Situated in Pauillac on Bordeaux's Médoc peninsula, Château Mouton Rothschild is the historical Premier Cru Classé that produces some of the most sought-after red wines in the world. Every vintage, a number of barrels of young wine is set aside to become eau-de-vie. After undergoing a double distillation in a traditional Alambic copper still, the spirit is aged in oak barrels for between 15 to 30 years before being blended prior to bottling. Expect notes of raisins, dates, dried figs and stewed plums.
