A pure Nerello Mascalese could not be missing among the wines offered by Carranco on Etna. After all, it is the King among the native vines of the volcano. The Pinot Noir of Sicily which, as in the case of this red wine, when it comes from vines over 50 years old, can reach peaks of absolute excellence. Vinified in cement tanks according to the most ancient tradition, this Etna DOC is aged in large oak barrels. The result is a wine capable of expressing the volcanic personality of its land of origin. A ruby red colour that is not too intense and typical, the nose has a fine bouquet, with clear hints of red fruits and flowers. In the mouth it is structured and balanced, with fruity hints of strawberry and black cherry. Spicier notes also stand out, of black pepper and rhubarb. The tannin, finally, is tasty and silky, with a nice persistence.
